Warrior Guest Feature: doTERRA Healing Oil Journey

November 10, 2016

Thank you for the care package Cheryl//Faith In Oils

With the atmosphere in my country this week and all the negativity on our social media feeds–I thought its the perfect time to share some healing therapy. We can all use some healing in our lives. I know I can! With my chronic illnesses I try to use natural remedies as much as possible since I do take lots of medications and it’s always good for me to take one less medication if I can.

I’ve been familiar with essential oils mainly used for anointing in prayer for the many healing prayers I’ve received in my lifetime. Myrrh is the most commonly used in anointing oils and come to find out the many healing properties myrrh has.

Myrrh- Commiphora myrrha

Historically, Myrrh has been used in many ways, from meditation to embalming in ancient Egypt. Modern herbalists frequently recommend Myrrh for its cleansing properties, especially for the mouth and throat. Myrrh is also excellent for calming the skin. For aromatic, topical, or dietary use.

I think the healers of that day understood this. Not only does it smell good but there is actual healing properties when extracted and the doTERRA brand sources from the best places to grow that essential oil. Which than in turn is good in providing the best sourced product, more job opportunities and bettering the economy.

This why I love to promote small businesses because if we want change in this world I believe it takes action. Small businesses make our economy better. For me I see that if my world is better, it’s better for my family and continues to plant seed for our future.

I’m happy to see that they have products like doTERRA that follow high standards and give back to the community through Helping Hands. Also, that more people are finding the benefits of high quality essential oils and are able to get off or lessen their medications.

My first time trying healing oils was with my best friend whom I grew up with–who started mixing oils from doTERRA. Which she vouches is the best that is out there–as she has tested many that are on the market. She gave me a headache and muscle ache oil blend and was instantly hooked. She started to also make other products like lip balms and sprays.

Not only did I love the smell but I loved how it felt on my skin. I’m very sensitive to perfumes and it cleared my headache instead of giving me one and, this is actually soothing to feel, breath in and smell. That is satisfying all your senses.

I couldn’t get any refills due to her being far but so happy that my friend Cheryl who is local to Sacramento–is a DoTERRA Wellness adviser and got my must needed care package. Some of my favorites are: Lavender, Peppermint, Wintergreen, and Deep Blue.

Applied alone or in combination is really good for muscle, bone ache and any chronic pain and I can testify to it. I no longer am dependent on pain medications. I’m loving the ability to depend on something that is actually good for you. After all we’ve used essential oils since the beginning of time.

Thank you Cheryl for sharing your story with Warrior LifeStyle. I look forward to also sharing some oil blends in the future. Let’s keep sharing the healing journey and will be sure to keep sharing the stories of my warrior friends and the great products they sale.

Faith in oils

It started with a post on Facebook. Cupcake was 7 years old at the time and had been suffering with constant headaches for about 2 months and the headaches were getting increasingly worse. I took her to the eye Dr. and she needed glasses. Still had headaches. I took her to her primary doctor and she felt that it was more than just eye strain. She concluded that Cupcake was having migraines as it also runs rampant in my family.

The medication that was prescribed is used primarily for loss of appetite (weight gain). The first 4 days I saw an increase in Cupcakes appetite and her throat started to swell which had us in the emergency room as she was have difficulty breathing. She already had oversized tonsils and at that time her primary doctor had talked about surgery for a couple of years. (She has since had her tonsils and adenoids removed.) Also, the medicine was making her fall asleep at school. Out of frustration I posted on Facebook asking for prayers.

A vendor I met at church a couple months prior reached out to me via FB messenger and asked what was going on.  She sent us some samples (Lavender, Peppermint and Frankincense) to try with instructions. We used the oils for 2 weeks and during those 2 weeks Cupcake did not have one headache! She was sleeping through the night and I wasn’t receiving calls from the school nurse to say that she was in the office crying because of her headaches.

I was shocked, amazed and truly thankful for this natural gift from the earth. It was so simple, just a couple drops, even Cupcake could self-administer. You can’t overdose from something so natural. That’s the beauty of it. I slowly started replacing my medicine cabinet with essential oils. I even replaced my Motrin 800’s that I had been taking for years. I have now been totally medication free for a little over a year now. It has definitely been one of the best decisions I have ever made for my family. Even the common cold doesn’t stand a chance in my house. What normally could be a two week ordeal can be knocked out in two days!

I could go on and on about what essential oils have done for our family. But as they say, “The proof is in the pudding…” Well in this case it’s the oils. You just have to try it out for yourself. What do you have to lose?

We became Wellness Advocates March 30, 2015 and have been sharing ever since.
